Join us at Copper City trails in Three Forks, Montana for an incredible weekend of building your mountain bike skills. This all levels MTB clinic will help you kick bad habits and learn new ones to take your mountain biking to the next level. Our professional mountain bike coaches will guide you through skills to nail your lines so you can really crush it on the trails this season.
This weekend is for riders of all ability levels, however, it is important that you have basic mountain biking skills prior to participation.
Such skills needed are:
Proper bike positioning
Knowledge of gear shifting
Basic level braking skills
Ability to ride a moderately narrow singletrack trail

The Women’s Shred Fest Weekend is a skills-based clinic designed to help you take your mountain biking abilities to the next level. Each day will be based at Copper City Trails in Three Forks, Montana and groups will spend each day working on different levels of mountain biking skills. Hone your cornering, improve your drops technique or further develop your ability to navigate steeper, more technical and varied terrain. This weekend is dedicated to you and will help you build skills for climbing, descending, and all areas of your riding.
Once you register, we will send you a questionnaire that will be used to determine your mountain biking ability level. From there, riders will be broken into beginner, intermediate and advanced group levels. Some examples of skills covered at different levels are listed below:
Beginner +: Stance & Balance, Braking, Line Selection Strategy, Intro to Cornering, Navigating small obstacles
Note: The beginner group for this weekend is designed for riders that already have some experience mountain biking. Basic knowledge of bike operation and controls is necessary to participate.
Intermediate - Intermediate +: Braking control, detailed cornering techniques (for increased speed and control), negotiating more technical terrain, roll downs, getting over larger obstacles, dynamic riding, intro to drops
Advanced: Navigating steep & technical obstacles, high speed cornering (bermed and flat corners), pressure control, jumps and drops, and advanced techniques for overall skills improvement.
Weekend Schedule

SATURDAY Details:
8:30-8:45am – Morning sign in at Copper City Trails - main trailhead. Come find our table, get your goodie bag and get ready for a fun-filled weekend of skills and camaraderie!
8:45am – Welcome chat and quick orientation. Split into groups.
9:00am-12:30pm – Meet your coaches and split off to your morning skills sessions. The first hour will include a group specific review of basic skills before heading out on the trails to really get into the nitty gritty of your skills sessions.
12:30-1:30pm – Your group will stop for lunch for 45 minutes to an hour. Some groups will bring their lunch with them and take a break out on the trails and others will have lunch near the trailhead.
Note: Lunch is not provided. Please bring your own and be prepared to carry it with you each day.
1:30-5:00pm – Afternoon skills-based rides. The afternoon will be based around building your skills in certain areas. Your coach may have you stop in certain areas to session specific features or you may spend more time riding and practicing specific techniques as you climb and descend.
5:00-5:30pm – Return to the trailhead for a cold beverage, some grub and a lot of high fives!
6:00-7:30pm – Optional bike maintenance workshops & BBQ. Ever wanted to feel a bit more confident about handling those little trailside repairs? During these sessions we’ll cover subjects such as; how to troubleshoot tubeless tire issues, how to adjust your brakes, how to check your suspension and how to properly set up your bike fit. Exact workshop subjects will be announced closer to the event.

SUNDAY Details:
8:30am – Morning sign in at the Copper City trailhead. Get ready for another fun-filled day of skills and thrills!
8:45am-9:30am – Quick announcements and then gather for a 30 minute yoga session. Bring a mat if you have one, but don't worry if you don't. We will have some extras for those that don't have a mat. This session will be all about setting your intention for the day and getting those muscles warmed up and relaxed for another day of riding.
9:30am-12:30pm – Spend the morning building on your skills from Saturday’s sessions. Today is all about building off what you practiced and learned yesterday and taking it to the next level. Most riders will stay with the same coach & group to build off of yesterday’s advancements.
12:30-1:30pm – Your group will stop for lunch for 45 minutes to an hour. Some groups will bring their lunch with them and take a break out on the trails and others will have lunch near the trailhead.
Note: Lunch is not provided. Please bring your own and be prepared to carry it with you each day.
1:30-4:30pm – Afternoon skills-based rides. Each lap will be based around building your skills in certain areas. Your coach may have you stop in certain areas to session specific features or you may spend more time riding and practicing specific techniques as you descend.
5:00-5:30pm – Meet back at the main trailhead.
6:00-7:00pm (ish) – Top off this amazing weekend of riding bikes and building skills with cold beers and storytelling. Enjoy a cold local beer brewed by our friends at MAP Brewery and take in all that you’ve accomplished over the weekend.

What's Not Included:
- Equipment rentals. Please bring your own bike.
- Food & beverages not included in the package: Each rider should be prepared to bring a lunch and a full supply of ride snacks and electrolyte replacements for each day of riding. We will have a BBQ going on Saturday evening with burgers and veggie burgers available for all. You may also bring your own food to keep you satiated during the evening workshops.

SHRED FEST START:
Sign in will be from 8:30-8:45am on Saturday at the Copper City Trails main trailhead. Here is the link to the trailhead turnoff on Google Maps. Let us know if you need additional directions!
SHRED FEST FINISH:
Around 5:00-5:30pm on Sunday, all groups will meet back at the Copper City trailhead for high fives and cold beverages!

Arrival & Departure:
By Air: The closest airport to Copper City Trails is the Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport in Bozeman, MT. The airport code is BZN. There are now more than 17 direct flights from cities all over the US.
By Car: Set your GPS or Google Maps for the Copper City Trailhead (Click here for the link to the trailhead in Google Maps).
Copper City Trails are located 39 miles west of Bozeman and 30 miles west of the Bozeman airport. -
Transportation:
Copper City to/from Bozeman: There are not any shuttles to Copper City from surrounding towns. The best way to get there is by car. See arrival and departure section for the access point in Google Maps.

Health & Safety:
Mountain biking can be strenuous and potentially dangerous. It is important that all riders contact their personal physician with any questions pertaining to your ability to participate in a mountain bike skills weekend.
- The trails we will ride on the Women’s Shred Fest Weekend will be located between 4000-5500 feet in elevation. This may affect those who are traveling to the location from low elevations. Contact your physician prior to travel to ensure you are in the appropriate health to participate.
- It is very important to stay hydrated when exercising. We will have long days of biking during Shred Fest. Be prepared to carry water during your rides and drink a lot of water throughout the weekend.
- Please disclose all pertinent injuries, illnesses or allergies prior to participation in this program.
- Trip Insurance:
If you are traveling from out of town to participate in the Women’s Shred Fest Weekend, it is highly recommended that you purchase trip cancellation & interruption insurance. It is also highly recommended for all participants to carry medical emergency coverage.

I've never taken a skills clinic, how do I know this is right for me?
This skills clinic is designed for all levels of rider. As far as we're concerned, the sky is the limit with MTB skills so we can always improve, no matter our skill set. Upon booking your spot, we will send you a detailed questionaire that will give us an idea of your skill level and learning needs/interests. We will use that information to form groups based on skill level. This will ensure that you are working on skills that are relevant to you.

How much biking experience do I need to participate?
Basic mountain biking skills are necessary to participate in the Women’s Shred Fest. You should be able to balance on the bike, easily shift up and down through the gears, and have a basic understanding of braking. It is also recommended that you have experience riding on moderately narrow singletrack trails, though this is not required.

What kind of bike do I need to participate?
It is necessary for all participants to have a proper fitting mountain bike that is in good working condition. A full suspension, all mountain bike is highly recommended, but a hard tail is also sufficient.

Is this event for cross country bikers only?
Shred Fest is for all levels and style of rider. Participants will split into groups based on their skill level and what they wish to focus on for the weekend. Most groups will work on both climbing and decending skills. For more advanced riders interested in jumping, this will be incorprated into the weekend for those specific groups. If you are interested in a downhill specific coaching, check out our Shred Fest event in Big Sky or contact us for private coaching.

What do I need to bring?
All participants should bring their bike, mountain biking shoes, helmet, hydration pack, riding snacks, electrolyte replacements, lunch for each day, a spare tube and any personal medications or personal first aid. A detailed equipment list is listed under the Details tab and can also be seen HERE.

What kinds of skills will we work on?
The skills will vary based on each group. Each rider will fill out a questionnaire prior to the Women’s Shred Fest Weekend that will be used to separate participants into similar skill level groups. Skills covered will vary group to group and will include subjects such as braking, cornering, dynamic riding, technical riding, roll downs, jumps, drops and advanced riding techniques. Do I have to attend the whole weekend? Can I participate in one day only?
It is highly recomended that all participants join us for the full weekend. You will get the most out of the expereince by joining for both days. That being said, you can sign up for just one day for $325 per person. There will be an option to choose the full weekend or one day when you click the “Book Now” button and start the registration process. For those looking to join for one day, we recommend Saturday.
